The Pizzana Story

Pizzana was born in 2009 from a single, unwavering belief: that great pizza is an art form. Founded by Daniele Uditi, a Neapolitan chef who grew up rolling dough in his grandmother's kitchen, Pizzana set out to bring the soul of Naples to the heart of Los Angeles.

What started as a passion project in a modest kitchen on San Vicente Boulevard quickly became a community landmark. Our pizanna-inspired approach — slow-fermented dough, hand-crushed San Marzano tomatoes, and imported fior di latte — resonated with Angelenos craving something genuine in a city full of imitations.

Today, Pizzana stands as a testament to patience, craft, and love. Every pizza we make carries the weight of tradition and the spark of innovation. We haven't changed our core recipe since day one — because some things are perfect just the way they are.

Born in Naples, Daniele honed his craft for over two decades before bringing his grandmother's recipes and his own innovations to Los Angeles. His pizzana philosophy drives everything we do.

Executive Pastry Chef

Maria trained at the renowned culinary institute in Florence before joining Pizzana in 2013. Her tiramisu and seasonal desserts have become as celebrated as our pizzas.

2009

The First Oven Fires Up

Daniele Uditi opens the original Pizzana on San Vicente Blvd in Brentwood. With a single wood-fired oven and a menu of 8 pizzas, the neighborhood quickly falls in love.

2011

First LA Times Feature

The Los Angeles Times names Pizzana one of the top 10 new restaurants in the city, cementing our reputation for authentic Neapolitan craft in the heart of LA.

2013

The Signature Dough Perfected

After four years of experimentation, Daniele perfects his 48-hour cold-fermented dough recipe — now the cornerstone of every pizza we bake and the secret behind our signature crumb.

2016

Second Location Opens

Demand grows beyond Brentwood. Pizzana opens its second Los Angeles location in West Hollywood, bringing the same artisan quality to a new community of pizza lovers.

2019

Celebrity Partnership & Expansion

A high-profile partnership brings national media attention and accelerates growth. Pizzana is featured on major food networks and becomes a go-to dining destination for the LA entertainment industry.

2021

Community Through Adversity

During challenging times, Pizzana pivots to feed frontline healthcare workers, donating over 5,000 pizzas to hospitals across Los Angeles. Community is always at our core.

2023

Third Location & Franchise Launch

Pizzana opens its third LA location and launches a carefully curated franchise program, inviting passionate partners to bring the Pizzana experience to new cities across the United States.

2025

15 Years & Still Rising
